Grassroots Program Coordinator

Regional Field Coordinator

The Leadership Institute is seeking a Regional Field Coordinator (RFC) to work in our Campus Leadership Program. Regional Field Coordinators are responsible for organizing our MI, MN, WI region of our nationwide network of more than 2,030 conservative student groups. This also involves extensive travel on a monthly basis within your region to organize student activists and conduct institute training programs.

Day-to-day tasks of an RFC will have you constantly thinking on your feet and using creativity to tackle problems. This job will require you to travel and interact with various conservative organizations to build a coalition on campus.

The duties of an RFC include:

  •     Recruiting and organizing students.
  •     Providing student groups with advice to help them grow and    sustain their organizations.
  •     Assisting students with exposing liberal bias on campus.
  •     Working with student activists to engage in activism projects on their campus.
  •     Coaching students on handling the media and message development.
  •     Offering advice for dealing with administrators.


An RFC should possess a strong commitment to conservative values and an understanding of the dynamics of college/youth activism on campus. A working knowledge of student government, on-campus organizations, student newspapers, and field team management is crucial. A passion for conservative activism is required.

The Programs Training Coordinator routinely seeks out and recruits participants to various Leadership Institute DC-based training programs. The Coordinator will continuously communicate with participants who have questions about the programs and encourage their attendance at Leadership Institute training.

In this entry-level position, the ideal candidate will possess event management experience and 2 years professional experience. Equivalent experience in internships or volunteer experience in areas specific to events, marketing, or campaigns will be considered. It is highly desirable that the candidate will be able to represent the Leadership Institute in a professional manner as they will develop new networks throughout the country to recruit attendees for online and DC-area trainings.

The Leadership Institute's Finance Department is seeking an Assistant Comptroller to provide professional accounting services and quality customer service to internal staff, contractors, and external entities.  The Assistant Comptroller works directly with the Comptroller to provide services in fulfillment of the Department's primary mission of providing consistent, accurate, reliable, and timely financial information in support of the organization’s vision. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Process and analyze financial transactions:

  • Accounts Payable:
    • Audits invoices against departmental purchase orders, researches/identifies discrepancies, and verifies approval for payment.
    • Assist employees, vendors, contractors, and purchasing agents with AP questions and establishing new vendor accounts within the ERP system.
    • Investigates missing documents and/or problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for their invoices.
    • Prepares AP vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews for accuracy.
    • Monitors accounts payable and receivable to ensure that transactions and payments are up to date.
    • Reconciles report discrepancies and problems.
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Oversees daily caging process and accurately posts all receivable entries into the ERP system.
    • Prepare daily deposits.
    • Able to assists the caging team with timely processing of business response mail on high volume days.

Monitor and Review Financial Information:

  • Conduct and monitor financial reports for the organization, as well as provide accounting support for yearly external audits.
    • Audits and manages corporate credit card expenditures and reports.
    • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
    • Suggest and assist with the implementation of accounting practices, internal controls, policies, and procedures while supporting ongoing efforts in creating greater efficiencies.
    • Reconcile various accounts/programs monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
    • Assists and reviews the preparation of monthly financial statements.
